On February 9, 2026, Lampasas Lawyer PLLC unveiled Lampasas Megaflora, a striking large‑scale mural created by Texas artist Bud Menchaca of Menchaca Art. Towering around 16 feet high, the mural features two iconic native wildflowers—Lupinus texensis (common name Texas bluebonnet) and Gaillardia mexicana (common name Mexican blanket)—painted with vivid detail on the corner of East Third and Main Street.
The inspiration for the mural is rooted in personal meaning. During its creation, Jackie Baltrun reflected on her late grandmother, Leota, who was a passionate advocate for Texas native plantings. While not a formal dedication, the artwork carries her influence and honors the love of native landscapes she passed down to Jackie and to many of her grandchildren and others.
Local newspaper coverage highlighted the mural as a vibrant addition to downtown Lampasas, bringing color, character, and a sense of place to our 130-year-old historic building (originally completed by 1896, it was the J. I. Cambell Lumberyard Showroom). These towering blossoms are a tribute to the resilience, growth, and the natural heritage of Central Texas—values that align with our commitment to serving the community with integrity and care.
We invite residents and visitors alike to stop by, enjoy the mural, and experience the beauty of Lampasas Megaflora for themselves.
